Natsuo is a twelve year old boy, about 5 feet, 3 inches or so and skinny. He has long wavy/curly hair that goes to just bellow his shoulders with bags that go to his eyebrows. His hair is a deep violet color, almost purple. He has pale skin. He has lost his right eye, as it was poked out. He has cat ears on his head and a cattail coming from the base of his spine.

Abilities:
Natsuo is the fighter for Zero. He uses word spells to fight with his sacrifice, Youji. Natsuo uses his vocabulary and imagination to focus his spells into reality. The better and faster he says his spells, the more effective they will be. Youji takes any damage that is aimed at the pair. Natsuo makes sure that they are protected as well though, with protective spells such a shields. The team is named zero because they cannot feel pain because of their terrible blood circulation. They are also able to control someone when they know their full name. They take that name on for their own and make the person’s body do as they say.

Personality:
Natsuo is a brat. He loves to stir up trouble when he can. He will follow the orders of his sacrifice though, never questioning him. He listens to Nagisa-sensei though, because she is like a mother to him. He really wishes she would praise him like she does Youji. Despite this jealous streak toward Youji, He is always loyal to him and really likes him. He does everything thing he can to make him happy, and will put Youji’s happiness before his own. Other than that he rarely does what he is told.

He likes to play games with others normally, like when he played with Ritsuka’s teacher and took control of her name. By taking control of her name he took control of her body as well. These games can be on the twisted side, something with pain or humiliation. He really likes to see other people’s pain, like when he wanted to see Soubi’s suffering as they were fighting.

Natsuo does warm up to other people; and finds that that those who are interesting will be fun to have around. This is shown when he really likes Soubi and Ritsuka. The Zero pair even goes to help with Seimei when he attacks the school, though it may have been for Nagisa-sensei’s sake as well. She was very upset when Seimei poked out Ritsu’s eyes, someone who is very important to her. Either way, their actions were helpful to Ritsuka.
He’s not used to being nice with other people. He’s used to them being something to play with, not really friends. Having Soubi and Ritskua in his life is a big change, but he’s doing well with it.

History:
Natsuo and Youji of them have always stayed by Nagisa-sensei’s side, and think very highly of her. They think of themselves as her most skilled pair.

They are sent away to punish Soubi for Nagisa-sensei, who doesn’t like the fighter. They find him after they take control of Ritsuka’s teacher’s name in order to play with her. Soubi sends her off and they start a battle with him. When they lose to the other fighter, they tell Soubi that they will not be able to return home because they lost. It is a devastating thing to lose to anyone. Soubi had used their inability to feel pain against them by freezing them, which made them unable to move. Soubi offers to let them stay with him, and Natsuo reluctantly agrees to go.

Natsuo becomes fond of Soubi and Ritsuka. The pair becomes very happy living with Soubi, even though they don’t really admit it to anyone but each other. It’s hard to admit it when they where forced to live with him because of their failure. It’s really different from the life they knew with Nagisa-sensei though. Instead of being prodded a lot, they get to play video games. He even takes care of the frostbite on their hands and ears. It’s a fun life with lots of baths and fun people.

Later, Nagisa-sensei tells the pair they can come home. They do go because they are really happy Nagisa-sensei still wants them, but they are also sad because they have grown to really like their new home. They leave with just a note saying they are going home. It’s the coward’s way out, but it would be too sad trying to say it to Soubi’s face.

Youji is treated far better then Natsuo by Nagisa-sensei when they get home. It annoys Natsuo when Nagisa-sensei does so, but he says that he likes Youji too so it’s okay. They go back to her to be re-taught by Ritsu how to fight. Even though they say it’s a bad idea, Nagisa-sensei says they must.

When Soubi and Ritsuka come to the school, Natsuo and Youji help with dealing with Ritsuka’s brother, Seimei. They take control of his name, which upsets him. They are beaten down from his words, which for some reason make them tremble. They become scared but Soubi ends the confrontation when he breaks the window behind Seimei. Seimei is able to escape, but this allowed the pair to calm down again.

When Kio is captured after the fight with Seimei, The pair goes with Ritsuka and Soubi to get him back. They don’t fight with Bloodless, the pair that Loveless does fight with, but they do watch. During the fight, the pair experienced their worse nightmare. The dream was of having Nagisa choose the other zero pair over them and being disowned. It was terrible for them, but Soubi snapped them out of it. In the end Loveless wins and they get Kio back. Natsuo and Youji think he’s really funny when they see him, since it seems they had just been feeding him pizza the entire time.

After they fight, they ask Nagisa if they can live with Soubi because they don’t want to fight the loveless fight anymore. They get the okay, which makes them happy, saying that it is their home. They go right back to how settled they were before Nagisa-sensei said to come home, but they aren’t saying why she really let them return, other then Nagisa-sensei says Ritsuka is a useful person to have around.

Soubi calls Nagisa asking why the Zero pair is there, and she tells him that they don’t want to fight loveless anymore, so they stopping training as well. This seems like a fine answer for Soubi and he lets them live with him. The pair even attended school with Ritsuka, which scares the teacher since she remembers them. They don’t like school though, since they still don’t like most people, and don’t go back. Instead, they just hang out at Soubi’s house and keep an eye out for anything about Seimei or other fighting pairs that might come to fight.
